First build done 200A SPIM08HP cells Sadly Converted to 2WD 2x 60A/FOCBOX (the good one) Maytech 6374 Haggy DT ABEC wheelz

Yeah I’m doing my best and now that I’ve done a ride to show that nothing is critically wrong, I want people to guess what will break on it next.

I’m pissed as hell i missed the 3DS focboc heatsink @marsrover sold for $20, as I want to install them in my hummie enclosures. Going to wait for the Euro/USD to go back down then I’ll order two of them. wait nvm its actually pretty low rn.

When I hopefully get the DRV repaired 2 of of them will each be safely stored inside a hummie deck.

I was seeing your posts around the forums and wondering just how many non functional vescs you had picked up in this pursuit…

More to the point, some solder wick would be nice if you don’t have it already (I make do with wiping the solder off the iron if I don’t have wick handy)

If you’re not offering vesc repairing services by the time you’re done, I’m not going be the only one to be upset you’re letting those skills go to waste

we’ll see how it goes for sure that would be a good use of the ability

First attempt at DRV removal and replacement.
Ground plane not as tough as expected but the bridges are a hugge pain.

Thanks a lot @Scepterr for the PCBs and dead DRVs to practice on!!

Not bad!

It looks like a couple legs got a bit tweaked, that coupled with the ~.1mm shift (might just be parallax) might be contributing to the bridging

One of the advantages of hot air is that with everything flowing, it kind of floats into place, but with an iron, you have to be a bit more careful. tacking down opposite corners or using something to hold the chip in place can help there.

I was looking at nmc pouch cells, and these seem to be everywhere, but I’ve been seeing that people are having issues with sag in the batteries at low amps, along with other cells being bad if buying used.

Is it worth building a pack made from these in 1p?
Or would time be better spend looking into something else?

Compared to what? A 12S 8ah pack capable of pushing two motors for like $75 is pretty hard to beat. I’m sure it’s better than any 12S3P 18650 pack, which will cost you $250-300. Runner up might be the tattu 6s 14ah lipos for $99 each. That will max out most of the motors we use.

Dude your enclosure is off the wall!

yeah the kicker on these things is sheer price to usable pack ratio.

I RIP a 6S spim08hp pack on my leiftech, it cost me less than $20.

it got upgraded to a pelican case then a solid alu box then that whole thing was scrapped because the deck was shot

Bummer I just like vans haha I’m selling a mbs colt 90 deck. If you are still in need

funny enough the build was moved to that exact deck i got from a friend.

I am thinking of going Matrix II in the back and 270 hanger in the front possibly AWD

What are your current trucks?

here go

Which do you like better? I’m close to pulling the trigger on some gears. I love my matrix 2s but the only thing I had rode before them was 8-9 in

the board I just posed is super stable I trust that thing over 35 casually on nice ground, yet can still make a slightly tight corner.

the haggy system is nice but BN has it totally smashed with the M1 gear drive

That’s kinda what I figured ha plus they are super affordable. I love my matrix build I’m gonna get etoxx gears for it. But I’ll probably get some bn 270 for the build i just started.
