4 oz cloth is not very thick. Lightweight Surfboards usually have just one layer of 4 oz, in reality 3.7 oz cloth on the hull, and no less than 2 on the deck. Fragile. E cloth has the same thickness strands front to back as side to side, S cloth has thicker strands from to back and thinner side to side, and makes for a stronger stiffer surfboard for the same weight. I wanted to finally start logging a build here at the risk of making something that dosen’t work so we can all learn together. One of the hardest things I’ve found about esk8 is sourcing well-fitting enclosures cheaply. One route is ABS or Kydex. However, I don’t have an oven big enough to soften the stuff to form around a mold, plus my lady will kick me out if she finds me using the oven to bake anything other than food again. I found with my enclosures that i got best results using both cloth/weave and csm. The infusion made it easy to go super heavy with the glass and the layups were more often than not upwards of 2000gsm. I believe most of them were 200gsm cloth 450gsm biax 450gsm csm 450gsm biax 450 gsm csm 450 gsm biax 200 gsm cloth I also added additional layers of csm and biax in the flanges for more bulk there.

Wax wise i’d get the tin because it’s cheaper.
