Hey guys new here, im looking to buy or build a board.
I have ridden a evolve gtr for about 3 years, im looking for a new board primarily for uber eats ive compared the likes of acedeck, exway, meepo, wowgo, bioboards but nothing seems to match my needs like the two mentioned in the title.
Firstly reliability, and it being waterpoof (i live in the UK).
Secondly is the ability to go 35mph, at a minimum (i weigh 80kg) this is to keep up with traffic in towns when i go on main roads ideally id like to go 45 but i think 35-40 is enough.
Thirdly i want fast charging over battery capacity i do not want to be picking up a 20kg board every time i walk into a store to pick up an order its a preference not a must if i have to it wont kill me as long as the truck is comfortable to hold.
Atlas pro specs i care about:
It has 20 amp charging 700wh lichen cells
It can go a claimed 60kph 3.7 gear ratio (15T/56T) 6370 155Kv motor
160mm Metal hub pneaumatics
BC3 pro specs i care about:
650wh Samsung 50S 5A charging
claimed top speed of 57Kph 4.0 (15T 60T) 6374 150Kv motor
150mm HOTA plastic rims
Bottom mounted enclosure
So basically which one of these is better?
Id prefer the onsra if not for the 20A charging and plastic rims, do you guys think i can modify the onsra to use faster charging or use the Velar fast charger on the onsra BC3?
Which board has objectively better motors and top speed i heard exway limits the topspeed because the motors were being weird at 37mph would i even be able to reach the claimed top speed on either?
Sorry for the long post and read any help will be greatly appreciated
i owned a black carve 3 (non pro) for a little over half a season. it’s actually pretty well sealed and the warranty is probably the longest of all the other companies. never had any issues with it maintenance wise and the remote was pretty nice imo. with that being said…
it ain’t happening with the onsra so go ahead and look at another option if this is important. i tried pulley changes, tire changes, changing gearing, flying down hills, you name it. highest speed i saw was 32mph and it felt like it was erpm limited cause with the gearing changes i made, i should’ve seen closer to 37mph but even then, never passed 32. for reference i’m less than 70kg
onsra doesn’t sell a fast charger for the black carve line to my knowledge so probably not the best choice.
you could always buy new rims, just throwing that out there. i don’t have a solution to your charging problem tho as i don’t know how many amps the bms is rated for
i would recommend going diy so you can build it how you want. @Skyart may also be releasing another version of the magnetic soon that’s “lightweight”
Based on Your need , I would go to DIY. Just it will take a time. Most probably longer than will be Your plan:) Just double check if eskate is best solution. My friend tried in Prague delivering food on eskate and it was not so easy how it looks.
I’m bias to DIY. Its cheaper, gets you what you want, and it makes it pretty dang unique. Not to mention you tend to get more for your money out of it compared to buying production boards. If you never diy’ed before, hope you have a friend that can help you build. If not, acedeck
I emailed them directly and “fabian” said that 40mph is possible on the bc3 pro and the primary difference between the bc3 and bc3 pro is a new esc which can use more power
He claimed a 70 amps per motor, but he’s obviously trying to sell the board so i take it with a pinch of salt
I already do it for about an hour a day on my evolve gtr i have the 1st gen so i consistently make it overheat and the battery is on like 1k cycles and last legs basically
Well over budget unfortunately max i can go is like ÂŁ1600 for 3-5k id go full diy use titanium and CNC that shit in my university
My issue is time and money in the future i do want to build a board which perfectly matches me but for now i just need the better of those two i think the exway pro is probably going to be my choice based on the fact someone said they have p42 cells now which are pretty good as far as im aware
well they also claimed the black carve 3 (non pro) would hit 40 and uhhh… it didn’t so i’d definitely take it with a big pinch of salt. especially being that it doesn’t take much amps to get you up to speed especially when going downhill.
i know the ownboard zeus pro will hit 37mph but i think it’s erpm limited at that speed from what my buddy was saying. i really liked the omw cavalry when i tried it at esk8con but idk if it will actually hit 37
Well in that case i think im just going to go with exway, they just verified that they do infact have molicells now which is great as that was a large concern of mine.
I dont understand how 6370 motor can go faster or be more powerful than a 6374 but ive seen a lot of reviews on the exway and no one complains about it, ive emailed asking if i can reduce the sprocket ratio and go faster or if its erpm limited, well see what they say.
you can gear an awd 6455 board to go 40 and an awd 6475 board to also go 40. the 75 would just have more torque and better heat dissipation. you’d also be able to push more amps before the motors oversaturate.
But then again that generation of hobbywing controllers don’t run anywhere near enough amps to saturate either. So in terms of production boards I don’t think motor size matters too much, especially a 4mm difference haha.
I have quite a few boards. I have to admit, that the production boards like Exway Atlas, and Black Carve are very good. However, I like my DIY Bustin Sportster and my Rayne Demonseed better. The advantages of DIY are the choices you can make while building. Everything DIY is custom. I prefer the Maker X ESC’s or FocBox’s over any production ESC I have tried. They are just more configurable via VESC Tool.
Also, you can build one heck of a great DIY for a fraction of the cost of a Black Carve 3. Personally, I think the Black Carve 3 is way overpriced for what you get (sorry Fabian).
i was talking in terms of a 55 vs something like an 85 or 95. the 4mm won’t make a noticeable difference. i can’t even put into words atm what he was confused on but the reasoning behind it didn’t make sense
