Evolving the neighbor kid's Zealot.

Hey kids.

Last Christmas I convinced my neighbor to buy his 10 year old son a Zealot.

It was an awesome Xmas present. Great value.

Then they layed chipnseal all over our neighborhood and ruined all of the roads.

Urethane was a no go, and the Zealot started to get no action.

So I needed to figure out a way to get tires on a Backfire Zealot.

And this is the roundabout way I went about it.

It mostly revolves around Evolve parts. Because I had the DKP trucks around and know those work with little pneumatics. So I also got some used Evolve Hubs and some 6 inch Hota tires.

So we are really looking at a Deck Swap plus…

It all got slapped on a Rayne Crush deck, Which is not too different from the Original Evolve Bamboo GT Deck.

Taking the Zealot apart was pretty straight forward.

The only real obstacle I had was the motors going on to the evolve mounts.
But Dremel and washers, and it seems to be working ok…

Then I needed a long cable to connect the battery to the Esc.

For the gasket I am using the magic of Butyl tape.

Thanks to the magic of winter I have not been able to ride it on the road yet.

Torque seems to be pretty good going back and forth inside of the house.

I tried to approximate an estimate on top speed with the calculator.
And curious if I did it right.
But if we can get a little above 20, this will be great.
And if needed I can slap a 15 tooth pulley on there instead of the 14.
