Evolve Renegade - who's getting one?

I’ve heard this a lot but not seen any evidence. I have quite a hard time believing it tbh.

There’s no way Acedeck and Evolve’s builds are similar, especially at the price points. Talking about CNC machined parts vs plastic. New gear and electronic components vs outdated ones. Batteries and build quality etc. Evolves are a joke compared to them, and I’m not even an Acedeck fanboy. Time will tell on how Acedeck’s boards hold up overtime though so my comments may age like milk haha.

Acedeck is not designed by elofty lmao you are making this up, where’s the evidence

Bro I’ve had elofty folks messaging me making offers to deliver Metroboard a completed esk8 that we can choose aesthetics and branding. Elofty does all the real engineering and the brands just do marketing and choose specs and general goals.

Can confirm. I saw the message. It was hillarious

Wouldn’t mind having one. Deck and battery compartment are super low profile. The thing looks sleek as heck. It’s still upper 30s in weight, and the motors seem a little underpowered. But still!

I wouldn’t say that. Evolve is incredibly overpriced for what you get (shitty bottom tier parts in general) whereas acedeck provides atleast a solid value proposition and relatively decent parts are far as the OEM boards go.

Not really sure of the relevance? Thats a deck/enclosure combo of spotty/non-existent availability… not really relevant when comparing against a complete from one of the world’s biggest esk8 companies…

I’m in Shenzhen right now, visiting various companies and factories, including Acedeck and Elofty, and this is absolutely not true, especially in Acedeck’s case. Elofty can indeed offer an esk8 platform for anyone who wants to make them in China, but to various levels. For some companies, it’s the entire board, as you guys know already, and for some others, it’s up to the client’s specifications or just individual parts. Standard ODM vs OEM, they can do both.

Acedeck is a real, independent entity. They design and source 90% of their parts in-house, outside of the Ares X1 carbon fiber deck, and the Stella. Everything else is designed by them, and they are also directly sourcing CNC manufacturing, battery assembly, and now even specific cell designs, without going through a mediator like Elofty. They are absolutely not a marketing company, and if anything, they do very little marketing.

This is why there is no other Nyx Z1 out there, why they are already on their 4th iteration of their gear drives even though they are a year old, have split angles on two of their products, and can make fast and good upgrades or fixes to their boards, while other Chinese companies will wait months if not a year to do any changes to their design or product line. Acedeck is now coming out with a new battery configuration, in-house bms, and in the process of finding a new but more expensive CNC factory, that I should visit with them today.

For Metroboard, you could also ask Elofty to sell you an entire product, or just the deck and trucks, or just the wheel hubs, etc.

This is absolutely normal in any kind of manufacturing industry.

Evolve Renegade bindings look familiar. Rude!

Oh great!

Next thing you know they’ll be issued a patent and issue MBs with a cease and desist.

Was wondering why MBS are out of stock F5s… maybe evolve took them all and rebranded them!

Ive sent MBS australia an email asking just that or if they produce them for them or something. Either way, its a heads up and they can do with it what they will.

I don’t think they are the exact same bindings as the mbs. The ratchets look different. But there’s a LOT of similarities for sure.

Good work.

With all this “innovation” on “premium” products evolve are fast becoming the Apple of esk8.

Next thing you know they’ll be riding around in black turtle necks in their promos.

I mean the heelstraps look a tiny bit different, but dont worry guys

Its only compatable with the renegade board

Someone I know very well said the Evolve bindings are just cheap knock offs of the F5’s.

They felt like if you took F5 bindings and made them a bit closer to snowboard bindings. Lots of room for wires passing through I can tell ya that!

I just got a chance to hop on a ride one of these a few days ago at the evolve shop in Oceanside, Ca.

Board looks cool, says evolve on it.

Battery situation doesn’t leave much room for off-roading so I would expect it to get banged up pretty bad.

Deck was wayyyyyy flexy, too flexy imo.

And bindings were pretty good but I even told the guy “they are just like rebranded mbs” and he was like “yeah more or less”

So all in all I would say it’s an evolve skateboard.

Nothing really super special about it i’ll be honest. I had more fun riding my own board home then I did that one.
