Evan's 1st Mountainboard | The Apex Croix - 4wd atrocity

I had some time this afternoon to modify the @Skyart 3-link extension plate.

First, I drilled out the heim link hole so that I could make the wheelbase for the front axle be an exact mirror of the rear axle.

Then I scribed where the heim/axle would line up against the current holes. Turns out it’s 21mm c2c. This pic also easily shows how much closer the regular HD long link would have been compared to the short link and my new middle position.

So I need to offset the adapter plate by 21mm to pull in the axle by 21mm.

And this is the part that took a lot of time and patience. I really didn’t want to screw this up so I checked and rechecked the progress quite a lot. I also countersunk the the holes for flathead nuts to connect the adapter plate to the 3 link baseplate.

In the end it lined up perfectly and the adapter is perfect now. The wheelbase looks much more normal up front.
