Evan's 1st Mountainboard | The Apex Croix - 4wd atrocity

I just took it out for a ride and it’s like a magic carpet. It’s a ridiculous board.

I do think I went a little too extreme on it though. The front axle is a little too far ahead of the board.

I think maybe I should have done a normal long link in the front. Looking at Chris’s rally bro, 4wd would be no problem. That leaves wheelbite as an issue though.

Current state is close to an inch of wheel clearance at full lean.

Moving to long link truck would lose a ~1.5” in wheelbase. I think this is too much wheelbase to lose. I definitely want to be able to run 8” tires on this deck. I’m ok with sanding down the lacroix deck if needed, but I don’t want to start hacking off chunks of it.

I think the best option I have is to DIY the front extension bracket a bit. Plan is to drill new truck holes in the @Skyart bracket to bring the truck in only 1”. This should make the front shortlink match the wheelbase of the reversed rear long link.

Wish me luck. I’ll be using a hand drill and antisink plates as a drill jig. :joy:
