[EU] J-B Weld 8265-S alternative

I’m struggling with removing stripped threaded inserts from my board. @b264 recommended using J-B Weld 8265-S here and it seems to have worked for @pookybear.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a reasonable EU source the J-B Weld and I’m not thrilled by the idea of paying $15 shipping for a $4 item. Does anybody know if something similar exists in EU?

BTW, I already tried using standard epoxy and that didn’t work.

I’d try to find a metal-oriented epoxy that is probably for automotive use and definitely of all those, the one with the longest cure time.

Let it cure 5 times as long as it says it needs to. In my experience, the bond keeps getting stronger for a significant amount of time after it appears “cured”. You want to back it out on the first try, not have it slip because you didn’t wait long enough.

Try going to a local auto parts store. They might even have JB Weld 8265-S Original Steel there anyway.

I also got mine from Amazon Germany for 10€ https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B003OIHTRM/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_inactive_ship_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anyone know if this is a good alternative to JB Weld?

Is there a flange on the insert?
