Anyone is welcome with helmet and small fee per hour session (10 EUR) before the opening (9am weekends, 12am-2pm week days), let me know if you are planning to visit Prague and would like to try it
Thanks @MarioChacon for letting us join the Intro2Speed family
Initial post to kick-off the regular updates. We have a local go kart track where we do our sessions and we record all the lap times in our standardized system using LapMonitor or any data we have from gps trackers to record improvement. The current standings and session results are available online. So far 48 riders joined us from all over the world and we keep adding.
Usually before any race in Czechia we do a Friday session here if the weather allows it.
The most common way to get there is to go by car and reserve a hotel - for me Prague is about 900km each way. I just spent 4 days in the Czech Republic, 2 in Prague and 2 in Pardubice!
I highly recommend it to everyone, it was an amazing experience!
Technically its possible to ship, @davidbonde did that few times. We are able to receive it and send it back. Usually hotels can do that aswell. Or possibly discuss if you need some standard battery that we have and then you can take skate in the plane aswell.
It´s doable. Takes a lot of planning though. I like the flexibility of driving more. Though drives can be long and more expensive if you are the only one in the car.
To add to this there is also the chance of carpooling with someone in the middle to reduce costs. Even better if you can carpool from the start but unfortunately we all seem quite spread out.
This is all I have, unfortunately it doesn’t have any scale, but should give you an idea of the layout. The hardest part is the right side of the track, the turns going into the green area. Turns are very tight. Definitely short track, I think gearing for 55 is enough. 60 max but doubt you’d hit it. Kartplanet is medium size track with higher speeds, I did 70 in the straight there for reference, and I think my top speed is the highest there so far.
Pitland’s surface is a smooth painted surface, not all outdoor wheels work well and you can’t really compare indoor to outdoor lap times.
Actually if we can get some dimensions for Pitland we could maybe have this standardized to fit in the 90x30m size and do a leaderboard for this cut down version? I’d be super down for that. Everyone could have proper practice for May!
I think the xcells and metro 155s were good but correct me if I am wrong.
Now in November me and Tilo will try our luck with the linnpowers, but have the exways to fall back on if they don’t work. I think they should work but I don’t know if they heat up quick enough.
Noone tried Nova’s yet but I suspect those would work well.
I believe @davidpilny will be giving the BRPs another shot in November and Vasek will most likely be riding the Novas.
The Linnpowers should be interesting for Bence and I as the temps in November will be lower than we’ve ever raced in plus the Linnpowers normally requiring a couple laps to switch on, which we wouldn’t have with only a half-lap warm up for most races.
Vasek has the Novas so i guess he might try them. I am going with meepo, not gonna risk BRPs Its gonna be pretty cold. The same goes for Xcell I think. @Xcs said they were good in Waldshut but that was summer and very hot weather. I tried them at the same place in the winter and it was sliding as hell. @davidbonde was riding metroboard last Pitland and did the best lap so I guess they were good enough. But this time might be more cold than we are used to, so we will see how things work.
On Friday before our xErace Finals race we were lucky enough to get a go on the track. Just in time as from today it really starts the winter weather here. Even on Friday the track was unfortunately pretty damp. When it seemed the track finally got a bit dry it started to sprinkle again We had 4 hours there as the track is now opened from later time so its a pitty we did not get a bit better conditions but we did some laps anyway. It was working more for EUC. We were riding the short version of the track intended for wet conditions without the hill section. So at least we have some new times for that configuration
