how come no one ever talks about the predator helmet?
It’s been used by DH longboarders for years:

Because you are talking about it.
I wonder if it will fit my big head.
EDIT: thats a nope…58-61 cm. My head is 62 cm
Nice, completely unfamiliar territory for me haha
Tsg looks better?
Damn, I’ll add a wrist guard section…
I’m trying so hard to not get the thousand. Especially when my 888 is doing fine
lol. I played with silly putty before too as a kid! XD
Well, for what I know, satan can be rainbow color
Shit, my eyes have deceived me
Chest and back level 2 protection, shoulders level 1. Pair it with
Elbow level 1
And TSG DHP or Force VA
Thats the one I’ve been looking at, just at 62 cm too.
Got some gloves on there now
How does all of this compare to motorcycle gear? I’m hoping to get a bike in the next few years so I’m hoping to kill two birds with one stone.
Not the same ratings. If you want to cover both, get MC gear, but know that it’ll be bulkier and heavier.
Yeah the field of view isn’t typically as good on motorcycle helmets when compared to some of the helmets we typically use.
Also it’s good to keep in mind how much more they weigh.
We don’t really have mirrors to look behind us on skateboards so you end up whipping your neck around quite a bit and you’ll definitely notice the difference in weight on a long ride.
Other motorcycle gear is great though when it comes to pants and jackets.
I’m with you - it’s wild that the TSG Pass seems to have such dominant mindshare in the esk8 community even though there are comparable downhill helmets from Predator (DH-6 and DH-6X), Triple 8 (the Racer which has even better safety certifications than the TSG), S-1 (Lifer, relatively new full-face option), and others I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Don’t get me wrong, the Pass is a great option, but it’s certainly not the only one, and frankly, they all look pretty similar to me minus a few details such as color options and visor style.
