The injection molding of the plastics used makes the shell much more durable and flexible. 3d printed always want to fail in one direction.

For real tho Ik I need a better one. Was running on 6s on my v1 of my board, but I’ve realized I need something better as I rebuild and move to 10s so I’ve been looking, and joking around to find one
Still falls prey to the layers. Even 3d printed enclosures are iffy here unless really coated in something strong and that’s just for holding your components. I would never trust it to protect my head.
Check for local for sale BMX helmets and sanitize the pads in the cleanest one you can find if you’re looking for a cheap helmet.
I got my first helmet used from @mmaner and it very likely saved my life. Don’t tell him but I harnessed his beard essence out of the pads before cleaning and am making a sweet enchanting potion.

I slammed my skull pretty bad in my airbird SBA 2 but not even a crack on the helmet, no concussion, not even a dull headache I fucking love this helmet. I’ve said it again and I’ll say it now, pretty much any (non-bike helmet) will do wonders for your brain function and if a car hits my head at 40+mph then I hope it kills me so I’m not a burden to my family, and at that point it does not matter whether you have a certified helmet or not.

Well, yes and no. It’s implied the dangers to yourself and your family. He wasn’t saying that’s what he’s worried about. He’s giving that as a fact to, basically kind of saying that you’re not only putting yourself at risk
who’s “bragging” on a confessions thread? I don’t feel like a badass for not using a helmet if that’s what you’re projecting, my false sense of security comes from a 22mph board and being on campus 80% of the time
