Endeavor Pro ESC replacement

Hey everyone, I’m just looking for some ESC advice. I recently bought a used Propel Endeavor Pro. I opened up the deck yesterday to add my Metr Pro only to see that the UART headers were completely missing and there was no cover or protection on the ESC (Flipsky Dual 6.6 (6.7?) Plus) of any sort. I took the ESC out and soldered some pins to the UART, plugged it back in… and smoke. By the looks of it, they put a VBAT pin right next to the RX pin and I didn’t triple check my soldering job. One of the MCU’s popped and something else, maybe a level shifter. Obviously not happy about it especially since there should have been headers and it seems like this could have happened accidentally since there was no case either. Anyway… that thing is dead and I don’t have the tools nor experience to replace the ARM chip atm.

So, been looking at replacement ESC’s:

  1. I could get the same ESC with a case from Flipsky
  2. I could get a programmed and wired ESC from Propel (easiest option but again, no case and I don’t know if it would have headers this time.
  3. Stormcore 60D+ (just says backordered until May? Only problem is I’m moving May 22nd…)
  4. Maker-X DV6
  5. Ubox Spintend V2

What do you guys think? From what I’ve read, it seems like my best bet would be to find a Stormcore but I’m not sure, hence the post. Also, is my fried ESC worth anything for parts or repairs?

Thanks in advance guys

you just have to figure out an antispark sutuation for it as i think the antispark propel uses is the one in the flipsky esc.

Yeah I actually have an old but never used Maker-X antispark, and I also can make a loop key, but that was one of the reasons I leaned toward the Stormcore. Do people like the DV6 over the Stormcore?

I like the stormcore as it’s smaller, but they perform similarly. If you have the antispark already, then get the dv6.

Alright sweet, thanks guys! Is Maker-X shipping pretty quick? There was no option for expedited shipping.

I’m just in a hurry since I’ll be driving cross country on the 22nd and I want to be able to ride along the way.

Sorry to bother you again. I just got a response from Hoyt and they have 60D’s in stock, but not the 60D+. I can’t figure out the specific differences between the 60D/60D+ and I’m not sure what’s better: getting a 60D quick or waiting for a DV6.

60d has worse mosfets and no 2nd uart port. id get the dv6. their shipping is about 2 weeks at most

+1 DV6 is great, DV6 Pro is better.

I feel like 2x SV6 is even better than a DV6 Pro

Where exactly are you coming up with these ideas

Bigger number better?

What kinda question is that?

Isn’t the DV6 now the Pro by default? It says on the website the Pro was discontinued and the DV6 upgraded. Also, would most people recommend a loopkey over a MakerX antispark?

You are suggesting that 2x SV6, a very untested, barely used ESC is better than another new, barely different than the DV6, ESC?

You have never used an SV6, have you?

I have not been able to find any difference in the performance of the DV6 vs DV6 pro quite yet. I am going to continue testing, but I have put combined nearly 1k miles on the DV6/pro, and it works great.

Bigger number does not always equal better, besides, he can’t even utilize that much power on this board.

This is possible, not sure. I suppose it would make sense.

It’s fairly untested and no matter what people say anti sparks are still known to fail

Yes, at least most people here would,

And heck I didn’t know about that upgrade that’s cool. Hopefully they make an even beefier dual in the future.

It’s untested? I think I bought it like 2 years ago, just never used it.
