I was joking about closing it guysđ sorry Internet doesnât translate tone sometimes
With winter arriving, I unfortunately wonât get to test mine extensively for awhile.
I had the same issue with Kenna where she tried to call me out that my purchase was from 3 months ago.
Boards donât get built overnight, and they took over a month to get to me to begin with lol.
My buyer protection process is over, in the end elofty/Mao didnât want to give me the 135$. Instead they wanted me to return the stuff for a full refund but that would have cost me shipping (90$) so I took the 70$ they offered me originally but I will never buy from them again and tell everyone about my experience.
Great joke, donkey toucher.
Please close
i got two sets, read through this thread so made sure to loctite and re-tighten everything.
turns out they forgot the can screws, the silver ones are sourced by myself.
had to get an additional 8 of these screws because they were missing. thatâs 8 out of 24 screws between the two sets.
butâŚturned out pretty well, this is using @evoheyaxâs hollow core deck.
super stealth, almost totally silent.
Can someone tell me what is the elofty DKP front truck width please?
Do they feel solid enough? From pictures they look thin.
Iâll get a complete DD setup next week and already thinking of upgrading the front truck.
No need to upgrade in my book. Plenty sturdy and IIRC 12" wide.
Thanks !
I just checked all screws on my latest gen (at least I have that hollow axle) drives. The main nut turned out really tight fastened, actually I wasnât able to loosen it. All other accessible screws were easily removed, neither the screws holding the adapter nor the smaller ones below the addapter (sealing the can) had loctite on them. Worse: The pins of the adapter are actually screws that were so loose I could unscrew them with bare fingers I now put medium loctite on the ones holding the adapter and glued the pins in with red loctite and hope that everything will hold. The smaller ones holding the can canât turn when the Adapter sits flush so I did just fasten them. Hopefully this week my airless at wheels will arrive from Esk8supply so I can test them. One set works flawlessly so far on the bench, the other will be checked when my new makerx dual mini arrives.
@Esk8supply Would you consider those drives of the latest gen waterproof meaning a conformal coated sensor board? Iâm thinking about using sensors on my 4wd build but these are usually the achilles heel of a otherwise waterproof build.
Just a reminder these drives are ass and no one should purchase them. Carry on
Eh, Iâm willing to roll the dice on the newer ones.
Lol are they really that cheap compared to a quality setup
Already have a solid board planned and one thatâs been my daily for a year. I just figured Iâd give DD a shot. They seem to have made some important changes to the drives with the 58KV so they may not be that bad. Iâm gonna try and toss a set of bergs on and see how they hold up.
They wonât hold up well
idk man, weâll see .
I am on my 700th km(OG drives) and I think Iâll be happy if they last at least a total of 2000km.
Then have to figure out how to replace bearings.
Guys, i follow this thread since day one.
after i reading all this posts, iâm more than happy with my Revel Kit.
For the price, itâs far the best option availableâŚ
Mine have already 300 kms. Canât be more happy !
Some things to note:
- The revel kit is more expensive at ($599) than whatâs presented here ($270)
- Elofty goes faster (up to 30mph vs 28mph)
- Elofty has greater range due to bringing your own battery, ie longer than the 6 -15 miles for the Revel. You can get a similarly ranged battery for around $200 for argument sake
- Allows bigger wheels such a pneumies for better ride
- Allows bringing in own ESC
- Uses standard connections (ie sensors and charging vs Revel proprietary)
Donât get me wrong, the Revel has its use cases such as boards that require smaller battery space due to the deck being flexible, but itâs not the best option available necessarily. It is a great contender for those that want something to work vs going the DIY route. I suppose it also has warranty attached on to it too.
Yep, they should be pretty water resistant. They are OK as long as you donât submerged them in water haha.
