The trophy can be a golden collarbone
This isn’t karts or the major leagues. It’s just a skateboard and 1000x more niche. Ill be interested to see if the numbers are there to fill all these classes. Anyway I still don’t see an issue with earning a place against guys that are giving me a whooping. I’m sure I’m going to experience it first hand when Taz and Jeff soon enough.
Lol at eyebrows calling me a numbskull though. It’s a good thing I’m from the sticks and stones generation, I haven’t heard that word since my mum was chasing me around the house with a broom as a kid.
Ahh I see your point. I agree - fuck beginners. They shouldn’t be allowed to have fun in this sport.
Why would it not still be fun? The other classes are there… I just don’t see the need to separate diy.
i meant sandbagging the qualifying time, where you’re on the track alone to determine your heat placement. if you know the heat is reverse order you’d go artificially slow to stay up front when the heat races come around, no?
You’re the only one going to look like a bum with slow times for the world to see! This will be live timing broadcasted on the web for anyone to follow.
Rough rider count isn’t anything crazy, which is expected for it being the first event and so close after esk8con. Pro class is the fullest with over 10 riders registered for pheonix right now. Mod class has about 5 riders registered and stock I believe only has about 3 riders. So as of right now those 3 riders in stock are already in the money! You have to just be quicker than two other riders in the Mod class right now to be in the money.
Spread the word fellas!! Lets get some stock racers out there.
My understanding of the mod class is the deck can be off any production stock board 3k or under. Anything goes from there.
You can have unlimited money in everything else.
Pretty interesting concept for sure! Just got confirmation from someone else on that too.
So, my 4wd spine could compete in mod?
Did you buy it as a complete rideable out of the box board? Or does stock include diy kits?
Well the way it sounds is the deck and if you CAN buy it are the two things that determine it. As long as the original complete price is under 3k.
So since you can’t buy a complete spine under 3k (I think - clickable purchasable product) maybe it wouldn’t count
But you could take a metroboard phoenix and increase the motor amps to 180 with a d100s or something, for example, swap the tires to brps and the drivetrain to 3 links, and that would count.
As far as I’m reading it now
That’s what I’m saying, how can you judge it by the price when then price doesn’t include all the parts needed to complete it. Also, with what specs does it fall under the price limit? With the cheapest lipos you can find or the best? Which will you race with?
Could I race a Dadbod if Hoyt offers one without a battery for 2999?
I’m going to take a guess and say probably no. It has to be a complete that runs. Which I also think means the spines don’t count either. Could the terminology and rules be better written yeah definitely. But I think we can at this point understand the idea here, whether you agree or not. And come race day, the race official will have the final say so you can always try to fight them then lol.
FYI @ everyone, new track layout:

Would anyone here go to all that effort to avoid racing in diy?
It’s not about that, it’s about being able to race in 2 classes
I would love to also race in stock but that’s against the current rules
Was going to say… id laugh if someone did and Morgan rolled in on his proto.
Lmao I didn’t think about that but it would count if Lacroix were still in business
Out of bizness not allowed?
