Hoyt St., Kaly.NYC, LaCroix (North American), plus Bioboards, Apex, and Trampa if the EU and UK are to be included.

Future Motion, also, depending on how flexible the definition of electric skateboard is. They have cheaper items but the only race worthy one is $3,200. Unless 4 wheels are required, at which point ignore all that.

Yeah, I’m essentially on Long Island anyway. I can hold it here.

Edit: Saw that others offered already. My bad.

If I stick to domestic:
Hoyt
Metroboard
Defiant board society
Kaly (defunct)
LaCroix (defunct)

(Y’all lmk if I missed any)

All these either meet the relative 2500 price or are no longer in business.

The objective is to gather as many different production boards to the start line. Target is what a consumer would look at and think “hmm pretty damg cool.” Not “holy fuck that 5k really?”.

As for a beginners class. With the purse money put up and the filming for TV. It is setup to run more like a what high end national event would look like. Practice, start or do I2s. Get better and try. Stock class wont have boards set on kill.

I’m just curious around bushings/weight. It seems like changing bushings is not permitted for stock. Might be difficult for those who don’t fall into the standard weight range. I personally would be out of luck with most production/stock boards.

Cheapest hoyt is the pneumatic tabor at 2700
defiant is 2500 on thane, not really raceable
metroboard is selling an old board on sale for under 2500, but anything current gen is $2700+
bioboards starts at like 4 grand but would suck on a track anyways

I dont think they would turn away a 2800 entry.

In that case, the rules should reflect that imo. I’ll happily show up on my metroboard x.o and I should be a-ok

That doesn’t make any sense he said that they all have pneumatic options under 2500?

having it both in order and inverted was so fun

imo if the goal of the event is to expand participation and visibility of esk8 racing, writing the rules to exclude boards unless someone asks for an exception is not a good approach compared to writing the rules inclusively to begin with.

currently, racers could be discouraged from even signing up, and only the bravest ones or those who know the rules are bendy apply.

Not sure where you found this information.

I’m not completely sure I understand the distinction here. are you saying the purpose of the event is specifically to show off the boards as opposed to showing off the racing?

anyway, I’ve compiled a list of questions, requests, comments, concerns, etc regarding the rulebook that I’ve heard today. anyone is free to add their thoughts, and I’ll try to keep it updated as things progress

Does the wording “thousands of new eyes to the sport” not mean anything about expanding visibility and participation? I don’t really understand.

Woah woah woah, you lost me there.

If it were simply labeled as a marketing or exposition race to draw attention to brands, it would probably be less confusing.

Not everything needs to given the “for the betterment of the culture” coating. It could just be an exposition race meant to advertise current available product.

That’s how I take it. The purpose of the race is to show off pre-built Esk8’s. They have also included an open category for more serious people to compete in, but the focus of the event is not racing. It’s a marketing event to showcase products.
