Moe will give them good advice, if they’re gonna listen to anyone…
If they don’t, it will not be the fault of my contact here.
Fantastic to see that there is at least a conversation around changing the rules happening. I’m optimistic they’ll land somewhere more competitive for beginner/sportsman racers.
Anyone know what type of tracks ? Like parking lot and cones or are they doing gokart tracks
Very likely parking lot and cones type of deal. They want the expo to be happening around the racing so can’t be a gokart track.
They should put one in the Midwest or hit up chi battery. All of these places are so far from Chicago
what’s with the secrecy here? This isn’t some espionage mission

Expo racing Rules updated
I find the price limit to be super fuzzy.
I have a metroboard x.o, fully stock, since it’s discontinued now, it’s shown at $2800 even though I didnt pay that much for it. I dont have any way of proving the cost to me. Am I shit out of luck? How are we able to prove things like sale prices?
Thanks for providing your very valuable input to the rules moe, some of the changes seem to be useful
(we) have a lot of additional clarifications, when you were talking to the officials, did you have a good way to contact them? (we) want to make a big list of questions and forward it their way. Do you think you can help us make that happen?
In addition, do we have an idea of who the inspector might be?
I’ve got a track 5 minutes from my house in cincy. Trying to set up something one day.
Are they going to change more @MoeStooge do you know? I still think qualifying needs to be a thing and skill classes.
I was envited to consult.
The consensus was 2500 is the most inclusive pricepoint to bring the most manufacturers in.
Also discussed, if you have a discontinued board or one over the 2500 limit, there may be considerations made at the promoters discretion.
The main idea is to get the manufacturers behind and involved with short track e-board racing.
These guys are bringing a professionally managed AMD transponder system and crew. I am familiar with the My Laps system. It is a live data system. Anyone will be able to access live data on their phone. As the race is happening.
There will most likely be qualifying. It will be by class.
Series MO, to showcase esk8 racing to the public on boards, the public can click and buy. Thousands of new eyes on the sport.
RIP American brands being able to compete in "stock " class in the near future
the gap between what $2500 gets you from China vs any other country is only growing, and that same gap will appear in price limited esk8 racing
Just putting this out there…
And there’s no language forbidding sandbagging
IMHO $2,500.00 should be $3,000.00 or $3,500.00 to be fair to domestic boards. Otherwise, it is going to rule out domestic competition in stock class. That seems unfair or inequitable.
That was discussed and I beleive resolved to invert the second heat if applicable.
I think the revised rule on that did not get updated.
EDIT: I’m not deleting this comment, but I’ll put a disclaimer on it that I regret writing it and I basically take it all back. I think it’s awesome that they’re doing esk8racing at all, and I fully support the race organizers doing whatever they think is best. Anyway, I’m sorry about being a salty bitch, and that sums it up. Cheers!
Sounds like this series is not intended to encourage beginner/Sportsman racer participation.
Why would I bother entering knowing that I will be classed in races with Mario and Morgan? There’s nothing fair or fun about that kind of race for me or any other novice DIY enthusiast.
Conversely, there will be a bunch of novice “stock” racers who get absolutely demolished by the Pro level racers who are on exways/acedecks for the day.
This is a terrible classification format for racing.
@zero_ads told me “git gud” and i won’t have a problem. How am I supposed to get good if everyone is lapping me?
