Timing is accurate and shows Mooney in p3 in the finals day 1.

Mario’s 27 in the mod class was accurate. His lap 3 was a smoke show. He had the best lines and cleanest lap of the weekend. Power wasn’t everything this weekend. The Technical sections made a huge difference. Data doesn’t lie.

We had a qualifying session today with 2 riders have the same exact time :exploding_head: and the second best time off by .001 of a second. Insane.

So your saying officially the meepo MLR got the fastest time of any board there, 2s faster than mario’s own next best time in all his laps on his pro board with twice the wattage.

I don’t think that’s right. Can’t seem to find a 27 anywhere. Maybe he typoed

However, he did pull a 31.7 on the MLR, which is only around 2.3s faster than his 29.44 he pulled during pro mains on Sunday

Track length and max speed on track make a huge difference - if we were looking at a track twice the size, I think the results would change a lot, that being said, the MLR dominated the other classes

Hm, that is quite shocking. It is entirely possible that he had a heavy tuck going on during that lap and it threw off the timing. I don’t recall them being that far apart, but I was busy racing so could be wrong.

I kinda second. No shot he set the fastest time of the day by almost 10% margin on a board that you can easily pin on the straight.

Yeah, I mean he was going downhill that day, with the toeside hairpin, but that much of a difference doesn’t add up.

At the end of the day though it was the actual order that mattered. We have all this extra data that is just bonuses now

total race time for mario and ruxx on that same race was insanely close too.
ruxx must have come across the line right next to him.

Some folks are discussing that the west coast has an advantage for getting points because more events are closer to them.

there’s two independent days of racing at each event. Those days are tallied up for points total.

Points are calculated at each regional race by final race position and tabulated to offer entrants a leaderboard of finishers.

Is the above statement intended to mean:

a.) at each event there will be a points total winner? other wise points don’t matter.
or
b.) each event will have a points total winner, and there will also be a total series winner?

8.1.7 A Series Champion will be determined by combining (2) of the participants highest
achieving event points in any of the previous 4 races.

This is how they calculate the event champions

Points earned in Day 1 finals + Points earned in Day 2 finals = weekend total points

E.g. in Phoenix, Mario and Reggie were tied at 21pts for 1st place (10pts from each coming in 1st place in one day’s finals + 1 bonus point from fastest qual time, mario on Sat, Reggie on Sun), and then Reggie won because he had the best qualifying time of the weekend.

How the total points work into the championship - it is my understanding that they take your BEST points total from your TWO BEST comp weekends

e.g. if Reggie got second with a total of 20 points or something in long beach, and then also raced at SF, and got 21 points there, his two best comps would be

Phoenix, and SF. Totaling 42 points

We took the combined best qualifying times from both days. It was technically 2 different tracks since day 2 was reversed. If it had been the same track both days we would have taken the fastest quali lap. Mario had a board swap (which will be another thing we’re going to have to discuss in our team call this week) and only 1 hot lap so his time wasn’t as quick as Reggies on day one.

What did you guys think of that call to allow him to switch boards? Should it be allowed to swap to an equal or lesser powered board? Fair? Not fair? One of those tough decisions we had to make on the fly and looking back at esk8con, Brandon had that board accident/failure on the restart after the red flag and would have won that class if they would have let him board swap…

Lessons learned and tough decisions that we’ll get ironed out and clarified in the rulebook. At the end of the day we just want to create a fun environment and give everyone a chance to race.

Yes sorry, should have worded it better.

a lot of us really enjoyed the reversed track. It totally spiced up the competition and made it much more dynamic and interesting

For those who weren’t there, it was CCW on day one and CW on day 2

Awesome. Yeah it really gives everyone a fair chance, especially around that hairpin when you favor toe over heel side and vice versa.

That’s a hard decision, unsure where I fall tbh.

I benefited from this loosy-goosy ruling; I bent my front hanger in the pro heat race on day 1. @MoeStooge graciously let me finish the day of racing on an MLR, on which I won LCQ and made it to the final.

My gut says to not allow board swapping, but having to sit out from a race because of a board failure sucks. Maybe I should just accept that’s just the nature of vehicle racing?
Perhaps allowing a board swap if a rider’s original board is inoperable is a fair compromise.
