E-Flexboardz mechanic

There is a lot of more qualified person than me on this forum to try test and review, but if you ever have a spare one for an enthousiast count me in.

For the electric parts, it really depends upon what kind of ride you want : off road, cruising, commuting and I’m not really competent about it except to be reasonnable I’m always impressed by the amount of power of some E-boards when a pro bike rider reach 50 km/h with less than 400 W.

Btw, you can use the same technic (folded alu + composite) for the electric box that can take place under the deck, between the sideframes (the aluminium bars on each side).

Where are you located?

I’m now in Israel
how much does your board weight compared to a regular wooden deck ?

It’s pretty light, less than 5kg, but for the first testrides, I will prefer to be physically with the rider to discuss and adjust the settings.
As it’s possible to adjust many parameters (heigth, return to center, flex/pop), I prefer to do it locally, at first.

no reason no to be, looks good

It will be better if I can avoid painting (labour consuming).
Carbon fiber black is a nightmare regarding “cooling” of the power pack (esc, battery)

I used carbon fibers as it is very usefull for prototyping (at Flexboardz scale) but for production. there are others fibers that are more interesting.

Sorry, time to go to bed here.

Sorry andy7, I gave you the wrong advice about motor mount.

Since our last exchange, I thought twice about it and, once again, I dumped aluminium/steel/screw for composite.

It’s easy to make, it adds rigidity and it’s probably less noisy than alu.

Colors and paintic are again a failure.

If you have advice about the chain/kegel you plan to use, I’m interested.

Same with 8" wheels.

That looks really good!
I might go down the belt route rather than chain, depending on what I find available. I won’t be able to embark on this project until July unfortunately as I am away from my board, which is in my summer house. It is actually quite close to you, outside Saint-Gaudens

I Hope you’ll get better fast and that you’ll show us the new flexboard soon ! (Non Idea why you’ve been flagged though)

For the record I did not mean to put that emoji at all I meant to put the 100 emoji

Woops! can’t remove it now haha

100%?!?

Why are you on a different account now?

In order to prove my identity, I can post a picture of few Flexboardz prototypes with a newspaper of the day, like in the old mafia times.

I only wanted to answer to Fosterqc that the Flexboardz project was still moving forward, even slowly. Thanks to him for caring.

As promized, with the local newspaper…

Agree 100%.
I guess that it was a bot decision as I posted too quickly after creating the Flexboardz2 account.

More generally, I’m not sure that someone else is willing to handle the flexboardz project.

Man this is awesome! Can one still purchase a flexboardz? I can’t seem to find them online, but I love the form factor of this!
