So been mulling over what to do with this post and I think the best way I can be useful is to use it for feedback from the communitys best roasters, and also de-mystify YouTube production and help folks who might want to start a channel but don’t know where to start.
I’ll be honest my background is in photography so video is a new adventure for me, so if anything I am also just starting to learn a lot of this and just plain make it up as I go.
Quick breakdown for this video:
Camera: Google Pixel 2 with Moment Wide angle lens.
Audio: Yeti Snowball edited in Audacity
Editing: Davinci Resolve
Music Sourced: Free music archive and Internet Archive
Misc: Amazon basics mono pod with adjustable phone mount.
One point, in any given ride video and or review / opinion, I love me some raw footage with ambient sound and zero music.
Doesn’t have to be the whole thing, doesn’t need to last super long if you want to spread little snippets throughout, but it’s gotta be there or I’m gone.
Couldn’t finish watching after you stopped talking due to this, and skipped through to see if I could find any.
@Dred you do this for a moment on your Guadalupe video (misspelled in your channel) where you cut away the music in favor of the ambient sounds, but it would be so much better to hear the motors scream from a start to full speed
My recommendations would be to do what makes you happy mr Dred. I’ve been doing it for a little while now and I have never had the intros or anything fancy. I cover topics that interest me and that keeps it enjoyable for me. If other people like it they will subscribe, good luck bro!
Got another one up, feel free to give this to non esk8 parents/co workers instead of going into a lengthy discussion about motor windings and torque force (the common folk do not speak our dialect)
Love the focus on stuff that is a bit different and not mainstream. Good to see you are supporting individual makers by giving them some airtime. Keep up the good work.
If I may offer a piece of constructive criticism for your videos, it relates to the use of your hands. Xboard gloves video aside, be conscious of what you do with your hands. Many a time I have watched your videos and asked myself, “Why cant that guy keep his hands still? It seems they’ve got a life of their own!”
Thanks for the vibes, and valod feedback, its partially a stage craft thing, partially a mental thing, I have a tendency to be fairly animated when I’m having a conversation so that carries over here, but working on tonining it down a bit
