Go with the meepo. It will make you happy and if you ever want more, you’ll have us all here to help with a more powerful build. If anything breaks, they fix it for you under warranty. No real warranty in diy.
This is all said with the caveat that the bkb kit is INFINITELY better than the meepo and only suggesting due to how quickly you need this board and bkb being out of stock. If you can wait for the bkb kit, it is way worth it.
I was able to setup a build just to try it for pretty cheep. Avoid my mistakes and you could probably get away with less. You can always build to test, and then sell for parts to minimize cost. And if you decide to build a diy, which you will, you can reuse your parts like the vesc and motor
Are you asking for a parts list or to test ride a board? Your initial post says you want a list for a board but the replys imply you want to test ride a board.
I understand wanting to test ride something that moves like a car but I dont think it’s going to help your decision making. I’m assuming you’ve never ridden an esk8 before so anything you ride will be fun. Members here and over on the other forum have all had the same answer for you and everyone else like you that comes here wanting a beastly board for an unreasonably cheap amount.
Meepos (or fill in your Chinese hub board) are priced that way for a reason. They are for the entry level, casual rider. These forums exist because those boards couldn’t fulfill our wildest desires and we wanted to push the capacity of these machines. You get what you pay for. This is (probably) the laaaaaast time I’m going to outright tell you your options and case scenarios:
You stick to your $700 budget and buy a prebuilt. You are happy with it for 6 months to a year before you start building a full diy because you want a longer ride, a faster ride, a more comfortable ride, etc.
You say F your budget, realize a fast and solid board can be achieved for closer to $1000 and have a monster a board you may or may not be able to handle.
You stick to your lower budget, start buying good components, and slowly build a great board without breaking your bank. Christmas is around the corner. You won’t ride immediately but you won’t have buyers remorse either.
Buy nice or buy twice is the truest statement around these parts.
Consider your riding history and ultimate goals before deciding. I can’t tell you the amount of parts I’ve bought that didn’t end up working out for one reason or another. Research research research. Going for a group ride in cinci today actually with a group of pre built riders. They have a Cincinnati esk8 reddit page, maybe they’d let you try a meepo or boosted.
You would have to resell tayto+enclosure because enclosure might not fit another board of your choice.
Btw why not get a meepo nls pro? You can’t get better than this for the price, except tayto dual but it’s short deck
literally the truest statement ive heard, please dont build a $600 mboards board like i did, complete waste of 600 dollars just for me to go spend good money on a diy build
