Did anybody successfully run a inrunner on a vesc?

How you figure that?

75k unloaded according to my calc :open_mouth:

Its only a 4 pole motor. 12.6v x 1700 = 21420 x 2 pole pairs = 42000 erpm .
At 6s 1700kv, the max erpm would be 85000.

ah your right though it was 7 pole pairs my bad

what are the effects of having less poles?

As far as I have been able to tell the erpm of vesc6 based controllers is even 150k, but that is in theory, not sure im the guy who wants to test that theory, hence the thread :smirk:

Edit: Not sure i wanna be the guy PAYING to test the theory

Less mosfet switching losses and a bit less torque for the same kv.
Low speed performance tends to be a bit jittery even with sensors.

ah i see
and other then less erpm is there any advantages?

probably not, but lets give it a try ay? :call_me_hand:

Edit: Sorry that was rude, more power from smaller lighter package essentially
And also my previously mentioned reason; they screeam so nice

Sorry man that was a bad attempt at a joke, i mean that the inrunners are more powerful sizewise so for instance my 380kv 5055 is rated at 1850w, my 1700kv inrunner is a 4076 and its rated at 2800w
But as i have stated im all new to this and just curious

@Halbj613 and whoever else might be interested here’s a size comparison between my 380kv outrunner5055 and the 4076 1700kv inrunner
