Bought a custom kaly board board last year.
1/2 way thru my ride home I lost 90% power and my Hoyt puck starts beeping at me. Turned it off and on, no changes. Same beep. Same no power. It will go kind of with me not on it but like walking pace.
battery is at 70% charge give er take
Any thoughts/fixes that come to mind?
Potential busted connection inside the ESC? Sounds like a low voltage cutoff, so high resistance between the battery and controller could be a problem
Dumb question: did you check to make sure you didn’t accidentally switch the controller to a “Safe mode” or the Slowest speed setting?
My buddy has an Evolve, and their controller design has the buttons on the back, so his wrist guard kept clicking the button when he gripped too hard and it would switch the speed modes randomly… LOL that took him a while to figure that one out…
Anyway, check for heat too. Spin the motors for a bit and see if the motors, or the ESC heatsink are hot? Like too hot to keep your fingers on it for more than a few seconds.
Do the motors make a rapid clicking when you try to accelerate (or buzzing of any kind), like their are our or faze/sync with the ESC?
Hold the throttle at like 50% or whatever and wiggle and tug on the motor wires, if anything changes while you wiggle, this means the motor wires are damaged inside the insulation. Or possibly one or more of their connections to the ESC is loose.
Just a few things to try.
Good luck.
Can you check battery balance? I don’t know what kind of firmware this board has but if you had a low voltage cell group this would be an appropriate reaction from the board.
