Custom Machining: Decks, Mounts, and More (CNC, laser, 3d printer, etc.) Based in Ventura, Cali

Hello everyone, my name is Anshul Bajaj. I am 15 years old. I am a maker, designer, entrepreneur, and machinist. I have been running CNCs, laser cutters, and 3d printers since I was 12 years old. I have been making longboard decks for the last three years. In the last year I got into machining metal.

I have been wanting to make esk8 parts for a long time, and I now have the time! This is a great side gig that will allow me to make a bit of money doing something I love!

At the moment I have access to quite a few machines and technologies.

Current tech I have at my disposal:
3 CNC routers
2 laser cutters/engravers
4 3d printers
1 plasma cnc (I would rather not run it, but if you need something, I will),
I also recently purchased a vacuum bag for deck forming (potentially skinning if I can figure it out).

My original thought was to make a bunch of stuff and post it, but I thought I would get community feedback before I start. With these manufacturing technologies the possibilities are endless, making custom parts will be great! (also any 3d printed parts)

Please let me know what you would be interested in, or what the market needs right now. I have created quite a few designs for motor mounts and decks. I was thinking about making affordable integrated decks. If you have a specific deck in mind, I can sketch out an identical shape to make for you.

Here are some of my designs:

image I actually made this deck in my mono drive build thread.

I got into the hobby like 2ish years ago. This is by far one of the best communities. Everyone is so helpful and mostly kind, lol.

For the last few weeks, the non-profit I co-founded, has been printing face shields for hospitals. We donated around 3000 units. We are now moving into an injection molded design, and will expand to international, I now have much more time.

Please let me know if you need any parts, I am happy to help at an affordable price. For small parts and mounts, I always print 3d printed prototypes! Honestly the hardest part right now is sourcing material, but I always find a way.!

Thanks everyone, I hope I can start something cool!

Off to a good start dude. I’d just recommend a few things… biggest one is just making stuff that is unique compared to the rest of the market. Don’t reinvent the wheel but rather add a twist of your own to it. For example those motor mounts are almost direct copies of torque board motor mounts. Design something unique! I’d love to beable to get something off you once something unique comes to the market

Thanks so much for the comment, I do really appreciate it.

Yes, that is the plan. I am aware that these are very similar to TB mounts (done on purpose). As I learn more I will definitely make my own stuff!

The goal was just to get into making esk8 parts, proof of concept if you will. I have been running those mounts for a lil while now and they work great!

Amazing start dude and for 15 years old, I give you major props for your work. The market is always open to almost anything new ! So let your mind run!

maybe because it would be cheaper? a single tb motor mount is 60$. I think that’s too overpriced for some aluminium

Very great point and I think this dude has a good potential to create some very unique things

what’s the thickness of that mount?

Clamps I usually run 3/8 (9.525mm)

plates I run 1/4 (6.35 mm)

1/4
what’s that

I added mm to post above

can you cnc some small pneumatic wheels like 3.5-4 inch

also cnc trucks specialised for esk8 with mounts directly and perfectly compatible with those

try maybe making as much of the full mechanical part of the drive train as possible and make it with your own special perfect designs

we could have something awesome if you do

Yes that would be very cool. I have looked into machining base plates. PM me with some more specs and I can work on design. I would like to start small, but this could be really cool!
