LOL i’ve had them all on my board and still have them if you need them for test fit. I still have the 62T and 68T pulleys here.
62T might be a better option for weight and clearance but I don’t like that it uses spacers to space the pulley and hub. The EBS pulley is builtin but also much heavier as it can run 20mm belts.
As for motor mounts, the EBS ones are the ones to go with hands down.
Also you can get the Radium hypertrucks bushing adapters to run Riptides.
I’ve had to open a couple of them up, and they’re greasy. Then having to replace anything on/in them becomes a cleanser-soaked-rag type of affair and while it’s not awful, it’s not something I’d invite into my own setup if I don’t have to.
Oddly enough, I haven’t ever had anything like that get caught in a belt drive. And these days, since plastic shopping bags have been banned, there’s nearly none anywhere on the streets anymore. Certainly not all the way out in the sticks where I live.
It is mint. Literally not a scratch on it. For a moment, I was apprehensive about building it out, but the last few years I’ve grown an appreciation for just enjoying something as it was meant to be enjoyed. I read all my old comic books, and will have my kids read them, however valuable they may be. I use my Sebenza pocket knife every day and enjoy the pocket worn look it has. And my boards all get ridden and enjoyed, even as they wear and get scratched up.
But, this board is and will be respected for its history, so I won’t be altering the look of it.
Yep. It has the roll of grip tape that came with it, and it seems to be pretty much the same as it would have been. So, after refinishing and building, it’ll have those old style grip tape strips.
Good to know. Thank you!
I’m leaving the inserts as is. They seem like they’re in great shape and aren’t moving.
On the previous Proto I worked on, I reinserted a few and used epoxy while threading them back in to hold them. So far it seems that they’ve held fine. I’m not personally going to put in larger inserts, since this is a relatively thin deck and it’s really only wood.
Great to know, thank you! I may take you up on that offer. It’s easier for me to deal with things visually, helps take the guesswork out.
