Cheap Ti skate hardware.

So, I took a chance with AliExpress ti hardware. The original stuff is 10/32. So, I got some m5 hardware and hoped for the best. Well, they fit thru the baseplates and deck. If anyone cares. It is .009 bigger dia.

I think the Chinese are taking us over, as they make most of our hardware anyway. Trying to find specialty hardware in inch standard is becoming increasingly difficult.

Now we need someone with a cnc lathe, to cut bigger threads in the next undersize ti nuts at 3/8-24. For 10mm axle nuts.

Good. Fuck inches.

As a plastic injection moldmaker, I survived a whole career without needing any metric tooling, I am sure that is changing.

The sooner, the better

10mm axle nuts in titanium already exist - 10mm axles use the same thread as a kingpin nut, which you can find in Ti already. I’ve switched all my hardware to titanium already, even including the bushing cups, kingpin bolts, wheel nuts, and deck hardware.

With that being said - be careful. You want to make sure it’s grade 5 titanium, as other grades are significantly weaker and may fail on you. Also, even buying the cheaper chinese hardware, it’s still an expensive endeavor and not really worth it.

I’m fine with inches as long as it’s in 1/4. 0.25, 0.50, 1.75 is workable. When they start getting to the 16,32,64th shit I want to murder someone. Why would anyone think 49/64 inch by 23/32 is a good way to define a dimension?!

Anyone that thinks 3/32 is a unit of measurement has some significant issues.

Artem ( and many others) knows how to bring the skittles out of the Ti hardware I think you use a torch and quench in axe body spray mixed with Mountain Dew arctic blast

This. I can confirm this works.

Only works on metric h/w though, inch stuff needs more fahrenheit or something

My experiments lead me to believe that Kentucky bourbon will eventually work for imperial hardware, but honestly it takes so long every thing starts to have a bit of a rainbow :rainbow: hue,
