Appreciate the feedback. Guess I will be forced to stay at 12s
Looking to buy a board if anyone has one.

@fire3element keep an eye on the progress with my higher voltage controller here. It’s being field tested with success so far. I’ve ordered production samples already. Hopefully the dimensions work for you.
unfortunately it will not
I have an absolute maximum of 62.5mm to fit the controller inside my frame
which is what made the v0.9 the perfect candidate
I’m getting an interesting fault on one of my CFOC2 v0.9 controllers. I’ve got two of them connected by CANBUS on a mountain board. Lately I started getting an
“ABS_OVER_CURRENT” fault on the master. Then the controller locks up for maybe 5 to 10 minutes except for some twitches. The slave controller will operate during this, but not with any load on it.
I sometimes push these controllers quite hard in off-road hill-climbs, but this is happening while riding straight and level on a paved street. So I’m guessing I’ve got a component that’s not happy. I’d love any tips on what component (or components) that might be.
Here’s what the log looks like…
Do the controllers recover after turning off and back on again?
They do recover, but simply turning them off and back on doesn’t seem to do it immediately. I still have to give them a few minutes.
Strange. Usually a time related recovery like this has temperature at the root of the problem. But I see the controller temp is fine. Are the motors over heating?
Even on steep hill climbs I’ve never found the motors to get hot. Both controllers have good heat sinks and are open to the air. But I don’t have any fans or anything.
I probably have logs from the runs where this happened. I should plot them and look at current over time. I can’t imagine I was ever pulling anything like 150A.
How are you power cycling it? The on/off function or complete disconnection from the battery?
I have an external soft-start switch. I turn that off. I think that’s as good as disconnecting the battery, but I’m not sure.
Now that I think about it, maybe I need to even drain the caps to truly cycle it. Is that the case?
Try complete disconnection from the battery and see if that yields a difference
Will do next time it happens. How long should I keep it disconnected? Do the caps need to drain?
Give it 10 seconds before reconnecting to the battery
Can anyone tell me whether the CFOC2 v0.9 and v1.0 can use the exact same firmware and share configuration files? I’ve loaded firmware on both, but somewhat uncharacteristically, I don’t seem to have notes on it.
Thanks.
Asking again if anyone has spare v0.9 boards.
JLPCB is out of inventory on many of the vital components with no ETA on restock.
No DRV8301, STM32, BMI160, or SS110
No, you can’t use the same firmware because of some hardware changes to v1. You can however upgrade 0.9 to v1. Haven’t tried it myself though
Thanks. Do you know if they can share configuration files?
No, I don’t have v1 hardware myself. But I don’t think it will be a problem. Especially if they are for the same firmware version.
I’m confused. I thought you said above that they can’t use the same firmware.
