I don’t know how the heck I’d do that with my current resources but if that is something you want to try then I’d say try it just to see what would happen
It has been two and half years since this happens and guess what, I broke another adapter in half. This one broke on the top side thankfully so no falls occurred and it is still technically usable but at the cost of less surface area to distribute the force into the deck which isn’t great
I just noticed it like an hour ago and have sent a message to Waterbourne and I’m sure they will replace it again without issue but I figured it would be a good idea to update this thread
Don’t judge me for not cutting off the extra grip tape at the top pls
I do have my blue adapter that I will be temporarily swapping to until I can get a replacement for this red one and have painted it red again because aesthetics are important but also I haven’t finished the VESC enclosure on my second board anyway. Been too busy with work to finish it.
Even with all the Holiday hours and restrictions on shipping due to USPS closures, Waterbourne got me the replacement part super fast
Them only having it in white ended up as a good thing since I’ll be able to skip the primer step and waiting 72hours after the primer. I’ll just scuff up the white paint and then paint it red again
I will continue buying their parts in the future even if there is a chance they break eventually because at the very least they make it super easy to get a replacement and have lifetime warranties. unless you break something on purpose or wear out a bearing. Gotta pay for new bushings and bearings but they are all reasonably priced IMO
