Building with the Bustin Sportster

I guess I’ll see what it’s like when I get some trucks on it

the e-core version is 1.5x thicker than that, and will not flex.

Aren’t all the ones we got e core?

I’m reinforcing mine. So I’ll be eliminating a little of that flex but not all.
Still trying to figure out if I can fit a 10S4P 21700 flat pack under this thing

mine’s the hybrid, thus made for the stiff enclosure it came with… it’s crazy stiff. maybe they have a different flex for the push boards

Do you know what enclosure you’re gonna use yet?

I’m gonna lay up at least 3-5mm of additional material on the bottom. Likely carbon fiber and a 1/8 laminate. Then create a pocket wide enough for the batteries with a router. Then reinforce that in with a CF layer or FG.
Not sure if I’m going to wind up 3D printing a mold or an enclosure.
Trying to fit a 10S4P 21700 single stack. It’s tight
Also, if I got the 3D printed route. This time I’m going to try something different. Make the enclosure thinner- mine typically have a shell thickness of about 5mm. I’m going to make them 2mm and then FG over it.
Then again, interested in seeing what @eboosted comes up with

Yeah, also waiting to see the @eBoosted enclosure before making any decisions. I started working on a 3d printed one too.

The enclosure I’m working on should hold a 12s4p 21700 on the sportster, hope to get it real soon. The Sportster is flexible so I’m coming up with something new

Interesting. I’ll be watching

Oh wow. I didn’t think you’d be anywhere near that capacity. Interested to see what you come up with! Your work is surely better than mine

Tb110s arrived. I’ll have more ground clearance than I thought so the single stack might turn into a staggered now

3.5 inches under the deck.

You might need to make some sacrifices too fit the 12s4p 21700 though.

I’ll have something innovative in two weeks.

So somethings like a 12s3p 21700 is more realistic?

Yes, that will fit no issues.

I’ll have something to show in a coupleof weeks, please do not order your batteries yet :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t have any 12s boards yet. Maybe this will be my first. No plans so far besides

  • Sportster Deck
  • NeoHubs
  • Caliber Trucks

Plenty of room for a 12s3p using 30qs. I’m going to go some measuring and see if a larger sell can fit.

I think the board is going to be to stiff for my liking

No wheelbite in dropped setup?

really? some like @bwahl602 here say it’s too flexy / weak!

that’s just the non e-core version. The new version and the eboard version are stiff af

Ha no way. I’ve only installed briefly with caliber 2 and the 110s In drop through. Not even close. I think a 200mm hanger will do the trick

If I get time this weekend I’ll throw a BN184 hanger on with some long bolts and space it and take some pics
