Brent is trying to kill me

Made you look :stuck_out_tongue:

But seriously…my board is truly gonna get me killed.
I was going downhill today with my brentboard and this happens:

Lost all power and had to go for the old technique of “oh shit traffic at the bottom, jump off and try to run after a board going 40+ into onward traffic”
Luckily, it hit a rock that made serve and hit a truck’s tire.

Now my question: how am I supposed to stop the connector from undoing itself? I can’t glue it or screw it as it’s also the same connector for charging…

A zip tie right between the wires

I had similar issues. A few zip ties chaned together fixed.

no place on the Male end to put one

There are these little adhesive squares with loops for a zip tie, stick on on the male end, loop around the wires on the female end, loop the loop to the square…messy but better than nothing

I see what you’re talking about but that little square will either look ugly as hell, won’t hold with time, or both (probably both)

Did you leave enough slack?
When the deck bends the wires on the bottom elongate.

Yes, I’m over 18 - click the summary

Summary

maybe it’s the connector pins that were compressed a bit allowing the female part to slide off. In that case I’d try widening the male pins by carefully pushing something into the middle hole making the pins wider and you’ll see a big difference in how tight it’ll sit.

edit - uhm. this sounded a bit brent-ish. maybe there should be a disclaimer on this post.

I believe I did?

I believe you didn’t

Do the following test.
Plug in the board and start jumping in the centre of the deck. If it unplugs again, it is too short.

I prefer fixing that right away…
Done. Fixed

Lol, that was fast.

I gave myself 3 extra inches on the inside of the battery case and had reused the old connector as a watertight option. Just need some small and gentle pulling

why don’t you open the prongs of the connector a bit so it has a much tighter grip?

But for real,

What about a makeshift strap that’s hooked to the board under the Connector. Then loop it over between the wires and have it connect to the vesc case?
