So the trucks will come w riptide bushings?

Yes. 2 93A barrels and a custom 96a cup from them.

Noob here looking for education: what is rake and why we want it?

Rake adds nonlinearity to the steering vs lean.

Thanks, that’s a great read, but he already talks about it like it’s given.
Is it having the hanger not inline with the pivot cup?

Is it just a different leverage rather than nonlinearity?
I mean, the distance is fixed?

Om, got this:

Much clearer now

Copied from above post for those who don’t want to read through.

Positive Rake will…

  • Create a fast, then moderate turn
  • Increase the ride height
  • Raise the center of roll
  • Have strong return to center

Zero Rake will…

  • Have a linear turn
  • Have a normal ride height
  • Have a centered center of roll
  • Have no return to center

Negative Rake will…

  • Create a moderate, then progressively faster turn
  • Decrease the ride height
  • Lower the center of roll
  • Have weak return to center

Rake vs. no rake is all about personal preference, so try out each to find what works best.

This ^^^
It helps you to further fine tune your set up.
It would make me consider a caliber build.

@Boardnamics What shoulder bolts would one get if they wanted shorter or longer ones in your hangers?

70mm will be a good shorter option.

I highly advise not to get longer ones.

8mm m6 bolts? How long is the thread?

The thread is held to an ISO standard, so no worries there. There is very little variation unless it is a custom bolt.

That article is exceptional! I wonder if it would be impolite to copy it over to the forum to make sure it doesn’t ever disappear from the internet.
