BMS Humming Feedback on Boot-up (Ennoid) + Unity

I’ve got an odd humming noise emanating from my Ennoid 12-SS (6.0 FW) on boot up when my VESC (FocBox Unity, 6.02 FW) is connected on boot-up. If I trigger the motors to spool up, they hesitate, the BMS hums louder, then a fault code FAULT_CODE_DISCHARGE_RETRY (21 beep) is thrown and the BMS reboots.

My cells are all perfectly balanced, no low voltage on the battery, etc. I am not getting stuck in a PRECHARGING OpState on boot, but on failure the system does switch to PRECHARGING Opstate, and throws the DISCHARGE_RETRY error.

Connecting the VESC to the Ennoid after the BMS boots resolves the issue entirely, no humming, totally normal function. I run a 60v buck converter that drops voltage down to 12v for my brake light, and booting up with just this as a load doesn’t cause an issue either.

I’m chatting with Kevin at Ennoid over email, but am I looking for additional insights here.
