So I pressed the power button on my evolve bamboo gt and it made a popping sound
Upon investigation a component has blown on the motor controller board
does anyone have info on what this component is?
is it replaceable or am I up for a new motor controller board?
It’s a capacitor, probably from the 5V regulator below it. It can be easily replaced, but then the question remains why it blew up. If you replace it, try powering up your controller from a lab supply, that way you can limit the current to the controller and not break other stuff.
Hi,
My control board from the Bamboo GT won’t turn on, and I’m not sure if the issue is a faulty BMS or the board itself. The battery is fine (41.6V), but when everything is connected and I measure the voltage on P-, it only shows 2V.
Do you know how I can test the control board? Can I connect power directly from a power supply to the main input (Deans T plug)?
Thanks!
Not familiar with this boards layout, do you have some pictures showing where your testing points are? Sounds like the bms might be locked but not certain.
Can you unplug the bms from the battery and let it rest a minute before putting it back and trying again? Some bms need to be hard reset ofter a fault to work again
Edit: just realized i said the esk8 equivalent to “unplug it and plug it back in” . I stand by my statement though
