BKB Re-Duo and 42" Vanguard Enclosure

I loved my original BKB Duo. It was got me into diy, and the flex2 deck was perfect for me. After building more than a half-dozen other boards, I wanted to build a long range, carver for the ridiculous amount of bike paths Indiana continues to build. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to get to both Louisville and Cincinnati from Indianapolis by connecting paths in the next few years. Fast forward to getting looped into a 42 inch Vanguard enclosure group buy, and here I am almost a full year later ready to get started. Except I’m running into an issue, even though my duo deck is longer and wider than the 42" Vanguard, the enclosure doesn’t quite fit entirely under it.

I’m considering posting trade request to swap the 42" Vgd enclosure for a 38 version, but I’m worried about the tradeoffs. I planned on either a 14s6p or 16s5p samsung 50S pack (I already have 85 cells) with the idea of keeping the P count lower to make re-charge times faster while still maximizing watt hours. If I go to the smaller enclosure for the 38 inch then I think I have to go 12s6p which is 8 to 12 less cells worth of range and the same or longer charge times… I don’t think 18s4p is a great option with 50S since I’d probably be running them kinda hot with only 4p.

I’m pretty sure I can gasket and seal the deck/enclosure shoulders, but it would always be a little visible from the top if I go with what I got. I’m definitely leaning toward going with the big enclosure, but I want to hear if you think it’s a terrible idea.
