Bike cuts out when I sit on it

I have a home built ebike, with 48-72v intelligent controller and 1500 hub motor and new five wire twist throttle. The blue wire is not connected. The bike works fine on the stand but as soon as I sit on it it is dead. Any suggestions?

Pictures of your setup would help.

What battery are you using? Is it charged? What type of ESC is it specifically – does it report any faults?

the only display is on throttle battery home made 18650 52 volts

Is there a configuration tool or telemetry device you can post a log from?

No I don’t.

Also what are your settings? Sounds like it’s not getting the amps it needs under load. How “intelligent” is this controller?

Sounds like a weak motor under load

Should only be 3-4 wires (adc1,adc2 (reverse), gnd, 3v/5v)

Probably an NC wire

Yeah post a link if you got one. My ebike had some stupid motor learning cable that I had to unplug while throttling for it to “learn” my motor (whatever that means)

Literally ANY actual details would be helpful.

Without any information on this home built contraption, here’s the best I can do.

Don’t sit on it. Problem solved.

Based on the limited detail you shared, I suspect your speed controller is attempting to draw more battery current than your battery management system will allow.
