One would think that the @Boardnamics branded motors would have the appropriate shaft size to be directly compatible with the BN gear drives. Is that not the case? Am I missing something?

This was the case on his previous batch of branded motors, yes.
On this current batch of branded motors, for a number of reasons, Kevin didnt get the shafts cut.

It used to be so but I imagine he had problems with belt drives or it cost more to have them made shorter. His parts are super inexpensive.

How much louder are steel/steel helical compared to steel/POM? Also the weight difference should be noticeable?
More quiet than moon drives. And yeah a tad heavier. BN is a much easier install.
