Would heavy duty packaging tape work as a substitute for filament tape or would it end up being a problem? Filament tape is not carried by local businesses?

I take it that the filament help keeping it from melting?
For the most part heat shrink is going to do a better job than any tape would on its own, the only times you need fillament tape is if the heat shrink isn’g gonna be enough, if its temporary you can just use kapton instead. But generally I would stay away from anything besides those 2 tapes because other tapes get gross and sticky and messy in a battery

thanks for the insight bro! I hear you! I wi8ll get some shrink wrap, any idea on a good place online to get it? I was just going to use the tape to be a base for the bms wiring to sit on, plus maybe secure the packs a little more.
If you’re holding the pack together while you shrink wrap then fiber tape, if you’re just holding wires then kapton is fine, and you can hold a BMS by the wires untill you shrink wrap it
I usually get shrink wrap off Amazon because I’m lazy, but eBay and AliExpress have more options
