Wow. A thought that’s always been on my mind will finally find a front seat in my projects.
The Zeus has gone through so many eras for me and held up considerably well. It hit 5000 miles last month. I’ve used it for skate commuting, racing, and most currently sliding. I’m hesitant to make it diy since it’s been reliable as a prebuilt (diy seems to open the bag of worms with problems).
I’ll convert the Zeus to diy. Plans as of right now:
-New 13s5p battery. It currently has molicel p50b for 25ah pack. Not sure what I’ll replace with, watching cell prices closely.
-210 or 240 flat deck duality trucks
-6455 radium 173kv motors
-VX4 pro
-hoping I can get dual skp solos that I already have to fit inside enclosure. Might require some router work on underside of deck.
-optibelt Omega HP belts. The HTD belts stretch too much for me I need a more robust belt.
Goals for the build is low/medium power carve/ sliding board. Looking for as lightweight build as possible trying to save weight where possible. Stock configuration is 38lbs. Currently, on stock electronics I have to baby the Zeus if I throttle too hard it throws an over current fault where you have to come to complete stop for fault to clear. It’s got a bit of that lack luster feeling currently where a bit more power would be real nice coming out of a slide.
The battery is potted in place and would be a mess to remove. I messaged Ownboard and was able to order new enclosure to work with.
