Axiom, a 100+kw motor controller

Not strictly e-skate related but I thought this would be interesting to some on this forum. Axiom is an ESC designed for big motors … 300A continuous at 400V all day long! And, it’s based on VESC. Check it out …

how much would one of these go for?
$5k?

Perfect. Can’t wait until accessibility improves and we have entirely open source EV parts that you can DIY almost exactly like these eboards we’re building here.

I don’t know, but I’d guess it’s substantially more than a $300 unity. The boards look non-trivial and I would assume that self-assembly is out of the question.

This would be great for an efoil… then again would I really want to be in the water with a 400v battery under me… hmmm

I wonder, can we even fit a battery on our boards that could supply two of these, with two very large beefy motors that drive four wheels?

I have to wonder…

Bruh more like an electric boat.

Lmao with that much power your efoil might become an RC plane.

Dont think an eboard with 400v of power would be very safe for our mortal bodies

This may be for bigger things. Anyone for a go cart that does 0-60 in the sub 2 second catagory?

This can power a tesla, fuck a go cart.

Yup, Tesla’s are something like 400V and between 225-340A. Would be sick in a street bike.

Do they have a shop or anything for these or is it more like open source build your own?

I dont get the website.

Id like put at least 100kw into a suzuki mighty boy project.

They’re currently beta-testing with a few select teams. You can read more about their ideas here: https://hackaday.io/project/164932-axiom-100kw-motor-controller/details

And there’s also a contact page for Marcos, here: https://hackaday.io/nitrousnrg

In other news MayTech has a massive hydrofoil motor that would pull 380A…that would pair nicely

I think it would be a little too wild at 400v

And therefore no need to this 5k controller.

more like in the 1400~1500 A on acceleration from dead stop, should be fun in a bike, you would do at least 5 back flips in a row

I think for the size of wheels we use in esk8…this controller paired to the right motor would be nothing but standing burnouts lol
