Are zealous bearings better than bones reds?

Bearing pullers are cheap guys…

How much force are you using on it? I barely push at all on it and rotate it around to pry at different spots on the bearing. The way I do it shouldn’t put any wear on the threads, but if it does it would be easily fixed by an axle re-threader

Whatever force is necessary, it depends on how tight the tolerances the wheel core was made with.
Some are tighter than others.
I just dont like sacrificing good threads on 400$+ trucks when i have a junk hanger sitting around.

Agreed, i’ve also damaged axle threads trying to remove bearings.

It works for sure, but its not ideal.

“hey lets use this super expensive piece of hardware as a tool to remove a $3 bearing and possibly damage the super expensive thing”

another trick that works well: put the handle of an xacto knife (or any appropriate sized cylinder, or even a screwdriver) through the bearings and spacer then slip it onto the axle while the cylinder keeps everything straight.

I do that exact same thing, except I use hex wrenches instead of screw drivers.

The @Boardnamics axles are particularly good because the right size hex key actually fits in the end of the axle like it’s meant to do that.

My most expensive hangers were only like $84 I think? so clearly we have different standards  also my favorite hanger was run over by a car and is bent so :person_shrugging: It is my favorite because it is bent just to be clear

Do the zealous bearings come in any other color than green? I know the bolt will cover most of the green but still.

Their ceramics have white shields, but they cost a lot more.

SKF all the way. Industrial stuff, lasts for ages.

Yeah I noticed thank you those may be a good option. Anyone put ceramics (any brand) on front esk8 wheels but less quality on back motor/gear wheels? I’m hearing many say don’t waste money on ceramic for eboards…

I would not use ceramic bearings on an esk8

Ceramic bearings aren’t really necessary. You won’t notice the difference.

They also won’t kill you either though. What we call ceramic bearings are really just silicon nitride (Si3N4) coated steel ball bearings, with steel races. It’s not like anyone is actually running full ceramic bearings on skateboards.

yes but I think all zealous bearings only come in size 608. Not 6001 for most electric longboards (Lacroix, kaly, etc)
