Are better 18650s on the way? Silicon anode technology

I came across this article - does anyone know if silicon anode tech is a “real” thing, or a marketing ploy? An 18650 w over 4.0Ah sounds too good to be true, if not a little explody :slight_smile:

@jamie, I recently posted my thoughts about these cells to my Patreon supporters. Yes, silicon anodes are real and have been in development for years now.

There are some huge hurdles to overcome but slow progress is being made.

Its not farfetched given 3500Mah 18650s have been in mass production for years, but new chemisties take a LONG time to be economical
