Archived: the OG noob question thread! šŸ˜€

Am I the only one seeing a coarse thread that had a fine thread forced onto it?
The more I look at it the more it seems that way to me…
Can probably be saved with careful application of a proper die.

Make 1000% sure you have the correct pitch and diameter of thread die… and then thread it on the good side just to make 1,000,000% sure you are correct…

AND definitely go SLOW in starting the die… make 100% sure your die is square and perpendicular to the axle… with hardened steel that is the toughest bit… after you are sure… Commit and thread it on… and good luck…

If this is the very first time you’ve used a thread die… maybe I’d look for a local machinist and bring it to him… it’s easy~peazy for him and bux 10 spent for a good truck axle is cheap, and you don’t haveta buy any tools… watch him do it…

You can use split PWM (ā€œPPMā€) or dual PWM (ā€œPPMā€)

I feel your pain man. stick around don’t give up the rewards are stellar. the first thing i did was read, read, read. I almost made the same mistake the other day. A multi-meter saved me a lot of pain (you can use it to test connections)

I think I know the answer but are the pins on the two connectors the same? Ie. can I just swap connectors or do I have to rep in the sensor wires

Same pins, they’re called Dupont terminals you should be able to pop one out and place in a new connector with no issue.

Do it one at a time and take a photo beforehand just in case

Awesome! I want to avoid having to re pin them at all costs!

Can anyone identify this pulley?
@haggyboard.timo ?

Plastic-ish
36 teeth M5 18mm Wide
The bearing hole is ~28mm
And is it possible to find bearings for it to fit regular 8mm axels?

Believe so.

What is a cheap 6 inch tire that will work with evolve hubs?
I love the trampa urban treads, but they wear out too fast for the price.

Have you tried the aliexpress 6" pneumatics? Im not super sure if they fit on evolve hubs.

That brings me to an unlisted item, but I meant something like this

Weird the link doesn’t work.
For $10 I might as well just give it a try.
Does anyone on aliexpress sell 6.5 inch tires? I really like that size and haven’t been able to find any.

I couldnt find a single 6.5" tire that would fit on regular hubs, 8" are the next size up and more common than 6" but I understand if you don’t want to get all new hubs and tubes and sacrifice torque.
