Get 8mm ones. The groove cut into the shaft will be closer 7mm than 8mm so an 8mm one will fit perfectly. It will be tight af, but thatā€™s the point

busy now. drive by answer. I watched the first vesc reconfig video. didnā€™t see anything done wrong.

Iā€™m curious if your original config just had higher temperature cutoffs for the motors.

it would be good if you could get real time telemetry from a bluetooth module, and determine for certain which throttling youā€™re experiencing. ESC/Mosfet temp, motor temp or current limits.

I hesitate to say this, but if youā€™re careful as a temporary test you could set your motor temp cutoff start up to 100c and motor temp cutoff end to say 110c and see if that affects your throttling. if you werenā€™t throwing faults you werenā€™t hitting 100c. ( Iā€™m assuming youā€™re set to 85c/100c now. ) so this will confirm itā€™s motor temp throttling youā€™re hitting or not.

@BigBen might have some or @370HSSV possibly.

You could also check with @Sender although not sure he has just the enclosure.

I just got launched from my board that was running a Unity. I was cruising at about 25mph and then the brakes slammed on. There were no shorts on the phase wires and the Unity still works. What should I investigate in order to find out what caused this? Can overheating of the Unity or motors cause this?

Also, is 85A for battery max too high? Iā€™m running a 12s8p made with 30Qs so if I remember correctly, the battery can give 120A continous. Just not sure what the Unity can handle.

I am experianceing same thing with dual focbox setup ive also had it pin the throttle for a short while god for bid i was bombing a hill

ur prob right as the newer ones run slight colder and have 100c cut off id think so it would only make sence for the old motors to run hotter as they clock the same

ill set the start at 95 and the cut off at 110c

110Ā°C is a tad high

ill do start at 95 and end at 105

just remember as a temporary test.

And as usual, Mike forgets to mention that heā€™s riding R2 hubs. Try different motors, I am 99% sure its the motors

His claim is that it was working before he swapped remotes. ( and subsequently scrambled the settings is my assumption)

Iā€™m guessing if we can prove his throttling is the hubs. we can assume the previous settings allowed them to get hot AF without throttling.

or itā€™s something elseā€¦

I fukkin found it !
ā€œThe internal thermistors line up with the default thermistor values expected with 3.xx vesc FW, and I recommend running motor temp limits of 85 C min and 140 max. My testing has shown that with these limits somewhere around 110C the motor current is reduced sufficiently that the motors never exceed 110 while remaining rideable over everything but the steepest of hills. Youā€™re unlikely to ever reach these temps in anything except the worst case scenarios. Really should have some data plots to show you guys, Iā€™ll do better in the future.ā€

now is there a way to set my own throttling defaults like a curve ?

because he says in the post people with old motors had isses with heat because no one would set a curve, what do you guys think ?

   thinkin 15% at 85c and 30% at 105c

that happens with wheels pulley with those bolts

We donā€™t talk about that place here

Too late. MikEEE found the fraud forum.

To anyone wondering how wide braided sleeve can be:

Easily double the flat width. A 12mm one fits all 3 phase wires and sensors with no effort
