I know it will be tight but I’d like to know for sure if a 12s4p batt and blue tooth bms will fit into a Trampa Orrsom Batt enclosure so was hoping one or more of you out there have done it .
This pack fit. 12s4p, in end to end configuration. Your limiting factor will be length. Those are 18650s.
That is the trampa enclosure material, but obvi not an orsum deck.
Hopfully they will fit
This is a 12s4p 30T pack so cells are a teeny bit bigger but I would still need to site the bms over the esc’s My 30Q pack with the bestech discharge bms does not go in there at all but that bms is humungous. Make sure the pack has flex if its going on an orrsom deck and you may need to print a spacer if you do site the bms over the vesc because its a very shallow enclosure
Cheers ,so do you recon with a 30Q 12s4p and a small bms I might be able to fit it in without sitting on top of the vesc ‘s or is there def just not room .
I can do some measurements for you if you like but trust me 12s4p will be tight no matter what.
The usable space inside the enclosure is bang on 600mm. A 12s4p 30q without the bms is 445mm with the cells across the build as opposed to end to end. Depending on the size of your chosen bms then you may have room. The main problem is the depth. You can not stack anything without a riser. Its only 25mm deep, if that.
You have 155mm in usable space to fit vescs, bms, modules and cabling. Its very tight. I would use a unity and a small charge only bms. This way you get a switch and bluetooth in a small package and don’t worry about warranties etc. There is always someone who can fix shit. Unity is not commercially available but keep an ear out for used. They are about and they have the added bonus of a very small switch which when dealing with the enclosure is paramount, its very narrow too. Its a difficult enclosure to build into but its fucking bullet proof.
Get a blank one though. Don’t let Trampa cut silly holes all over it like I did. Trampa only do Trampa and it can be a right pain covering up 4 loop key holes.
Same for the end caps. Order front caps and drill your own cable management. Theirs is all fucked.
This is a length, not a girth issue gents. Do we need a measurement? I have enclosure parts and a caliper, will measure.
I just did that my lovely socal brother. It took me at least 5 minutes of my precious time so stop pissing on my strawberries.
Hows the dino lady?
Cheers for the replies guys however I might have an issue as I’m getting the full electric orrsom board with wand less battery . So the fuel vesc are 75x70x18mm per unit and the module is 26x20x7mm
I’m happy to use a loop key and convert a charger cable to a xt90f .and I was ok with a loop key if necessary . I spoke to Dave at Trampa and all their enclosures are precut so I’d have to blank them if I didn’t want to use the xt90 port holes .
If the battery and bms won’t fit with the Trampa vesc’s I could look at getting a riser for the enclosure I guess as I’m ordering it with megastar 6.5” wheels so should be ok for clearance although I’d prefer to not have to .
Ask Frank
I’m really hoping I can make it work
Look I love my orrsom set up. Its not how it should be but I love it all the same.
Mine is gear drive with haggy numies and thats not what this combo is about.
Its about urethane and good carvy trucks. Dare I say DKP? Its a flat deck with a lot of flex and needs to be low down and dirty.
I am going to repurpose mine and build it how it should have been done in the first place with small diameter soft thane and massive torque.
Its a slider not a cruiser. I am going to get my 12s4p 30T in mine so you can sure as hell get yours in yours. PM me and we can run the gauntlet together.
I built my 12s4p pack with Samsung 30Q INR 18650 cells,
I think a charge only BMS should fit! if you remove some of those cables and make one battery a little longer than the other one.
Appreciate the reply, however I’ve now decided to go with a Trampa Urban Carver and a eboosted under deck enclosure.
I see you have cutouts on your enclosure for the orrsom longboard. Will dirt and water get inside if you do the cutouts?
That is tight as a ducks arse.
I got my 30T in mine but I had to relieve the focboxes of their casings and then the board tried to kill me so I took it out again.
Confession, I just built the pack. The build is my customers, very neat.
I like the enclosure because its bullet proof but its just too tight for options
