Saw that flipsky started selling them so it peaked my interest.
Same hubs as those used on metroboard X
Both marked “Sunmate” in the hub.
Anyone have any experience with these? And do pulleys designed for the Trampa originals fit these clone hubs?
Think they look nice for the price metroboard is selling them for, Flipsky is selling them for the same price as Trampa originals which is ridiculous in my opinion.
Eager to hear your opinion.
Oh, these existed for a while https://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/chinese-superstars/73166
A bit funny how Flipsky is also starting to sell these.
(Don’t ban me for posting the other forum’s link)
They aren’t bad, but the Flipsky price is far too high when you can get them from Metroboard for $100. MBS & TB wheels are better. They stay truer longer and don’t have the weird vibrations that Trampa/Clones get on rough asphalt.
Flipsky’s price is bad.
They are $139 from metroboard, which is better, but the expensive part ends up being the pulleys. Direct from Sunmate you can get 4 wheels + 2 aluminum pulleys for $190. That’d be $229 from metroboard w/ nylon pulleys.
Also should be noted that metro’s come w/ street tires and sunmate direct comes with offroad tires.
Thanks for the info. I knew I saw it pop up in the old forum but couldn’t find the thread again. Seems like they’re not bad if they can be had for cheap. I’ve already asked flipsky if they plan on selling matching pulleys.
$250 shipped with a full extra set of tubes and tires!
the wheels, no.
the gears, oh my yes…
this
vs.
Thankfully, since the bolt pattern is the same, you can use real trampa gears (which are beautiful, BTW) on the cheap hubs, as in the pic above.
theres nothing wrong with injection molded nylon pulleys imo.
People have even been using 3D printed nylon pullys and they last thousands of kms
Do the TB wheels fit superstar bolt pattern?
Nope, I am 90% sure they do not.
Anyone know how wide these hubs are?
Never mind. Found it.
