Any helical gear drives that are quiet?

How are we defining quiet? I’d consider 3dservisas relatively quiet for gear drives, but that is mostly just because they’re a lot quieter than anything straight cut.

I’ve only heard one board with them and they were annoyingly loud. I don’t know what it was though. Are there any helical gears being used?

I wonder if could add foam or something to insulate too

Newbee is pretty quiet if you go with POM slave gears.

Is the black gear metal?

Is the axial load on what I imagine are small motor bearings within their rated load ability? Maybe they use some specific motors. I don’t know anything about them but interested

They are POM. The latest version uses White POM and a 2 piece body, not 3 like with the older design.

i believe you only have a bearing in the big gear. The Motor gets shimmed. No additional “anti helical load” measures.

The hub plate gets bolted to the big gear and is separated by a V-seal
