If you strip away the logos, colors, etc they look similar but not identical. An informed user could tell them apart.

Itâs just a few small differences, not so obvious to people when looking online, the color is what distinguished it mainly. The escape had some different components placed at the same/around the same position as the VESC like the mofsets or the transistors.
Was it trampa that forced him to stop? Or is it for another reason, for what Iâve read, apparently the guy disappeared one day, and we never saw him ever again.

I still see this as Frank chasing of Competition to improve trampa profit. Not protecting the VESC project. One miniy he says make little changes try to improve things then you see there is difrent components used so things were changed.
My conclusion the hole thing is about trampa bullying.
@Trampa are you willing to provide any evidence that this is not you picking on the small guy? I disagree. On the matter of Escape vs vesc6. Frank should be pissed. Wouldnât you be? I donât like all the other stuff he does, and the angles he used to dissuade stewii, but who would be cool with a low price clone of your premium product?
On the other hand, when you premium price something that can be made from commodity parts and is open source hardware, youâre almost inviting this sort of thingâŚ

The final price of a product can include other stuff such as after sales service, warranty etc.
It is not fair to compare the price of two products even if they are identical and one comes with all of the above and the other as is.
