Careful where we go here, these conversations have a tendency to get really xenophobic really fast and often lack a baseline knowledge of how hardware logistics actually work and the difference between copying and reproducing a reference design outright.
Yes I have, and its an insanely futuristic place, I love it.
I apologize if I came of xenophobic
A good example is one of the wifi modem sub processing chips we use on REDACTED we had the option to use a Qualcomm chipn which would have added about .25 cents onto the PUC or use an OEM chip that was produced of the same open reference architecture but only cost about .10 cents PUC. The OEM chip was nearly identical but legally and design wise was a unique product.
Please not discussing my country or government. My company get audit by PSB. If you talk bad thing here I can getting into many trouble and cannot spending any time here.

Directed at Skunk. You are in John Wick 4 mode.
Sorry, thank you
I apologise for getting off topic. And directly to @jeffwuneo for any insult. None was intended.
Back on topic though:
Trampa enforcing their copyright is their right. And itâs the difference between a bunch of people on their garage and a company with real R/D and warranty
Thatâs a very nice insult.
Wasnât meant as an insult. Just an observation that he was in âpunch everyone in the faceâ mode.
Kellen is a spicy meatball.

Very good country it is
Canât we really lock him with shartsis?
Careful. Thatâs how you get Dr. Manhattans.
So I read this whole thread and it was very interesting.
As an Industrial product designing student one of the first things you learn is that there are target groups.
Now @Trampa rampa is selling his Vescs for about 300 euros or whatever with features that a lot of support is going to the original designer that they pay. I think Frank even stated himself that its for a very specific audience. This audience doesnât look at an extra 100 bucks, as long as they have the best and support the designer.
Now the problems I read here are that for example @jeffwuneo 's ESC is a completely different product. Essentially its a copy and its meant for people that canât afford an extra 600 bucks for their board. People like me. I cannot fork an extra 200 bucks over because some lovely man decided to make it open source, heck if it wasnât open source it couldnât be that expensive, since there are always gonna be alternatives look at android to apple for example.
Its unjust in my eyes that emails are sent towards Jeff that he needs to raise his prices to support Benjamin. While Jeff is making an ESC for people with less money to spend and would be offput by that extra bit because they simply cannot afford it. If you truly cared about the open source part, you would realise this and just say hey man just put a link or something for donations.
About the ESCape I think both parties have valid points. It is catered to the same audience as Trampaâs and it looks identical therefore it should be changed, since Trampa claims to have the copyrights.
However they should also prove this and not dance around it with half answers, that just makes it shady.
Its very weird that you go after the cheapo escâs, they are clearly catered towards a different audience that your ESC will never sell to.
And will only cost you money claiming âit will damage the vescs nameâ it doesnât because its not even close to the same audience and/or product it just has the same function.
