When it calms down i’ll comb through and clean it up. Most of the discussion was extremely relevant and on topic, but there has been some…other stuff
I’m not sure who you got your ESCapes from, but I also got a pair of unused ESCapes for $200 from a member on the other forum who was quitting ESk8. I also got another pair of ESCapes from the same guy in the complete he sold me for $475, so I’m guessing they were about $100-$125 worth of that price, but they had 3D cases instead of the aluminum ones like the other two. Hell of a deal though. Might be the same guy.
Does anyone have any ESCape esc’s they wanna sell. In need for current build thanks.
@Vanarian has 2 he is selling
There sold I jumped at the opportunity to purchase those lol.
Didn’t last long lol. I just realized that pair was mentioned like 5 post ago.
@Winfly did u sell?
Currently have that one on deck looking for two singles if possible also.
not sure dude, I know he was definitely on the other forum, but I scored these from him through a local rider’s page here in Melbourne
Still have the dual Escape.
Willing to trade my new unity for a pair of ESCapes.
Could you please provide more information on the VESC6 design license?
If the intent is for others designing VESC derivatives to avoid a conflicting design, transparency would help remove any guesswork.
And it is public record in EU/UK, correct?
Scroll up a bit…
So to clarify:
You are stating the VESC6 is protected as an “Unregistered Community Design (UCD)” within the EU?
As opposed to an RCD?
I published a bunch of UCDs to protect the specific outer appearance of the device.
Since it is not necessary to have it exactly the same, that doesn’t block anyone from making derivates.
But they need to look a bit different, so that customers can see its a different product.
Interesting. Could you link me to where those were published, along with the disclosure dates?
There are also special servers you can use for those purposes.
Mike, I’ll eat my own shit from earlier in this topic and admit that for a change this has actually been a useful discussion for the most part. Lots of new information from relevant people and not the same tired arguments.
Might be nice to come to a conclusion and put a pin in this once this thread dies down, something you could do as the primary driver on this topic. People can draw conclusions after reading this thread, spend their money appropriately and we might move on as a community. Ultimately who we give our money to is the best possible way for us to choose a side and outcome as individuals.
I have donated to Ben a few times in the past, that’s how I deal with all of this.
I don’t disagree with Frank trying to protect his perceived IP and relationship with Ben, it makes sense on a personal and business level, especially after how financially and emotionally he is invested now. I know he’s getting too involved here while white-knighting Ben on a daily basis and it’s clear that although he cares for Ben’s future it’s mostly for Trampa’s gain, they are a business after all. I wish Ben would be more vocal but the whole idea of getting Trampa involved was so that he didn’t have to read threads like this one.
Things to keep in mind:
Trampa deliver good products that are shelved and ship next day, fully supported and reliable. They have been doing this for years and years as well, more than any other supplier could claim, unless I’m mistaken? (genuinely don’t know) If people are unhappy with the price they simply don’t need to pay it.
Trampa support local events with real money, team attendance and promotion.
Trampa are in the news in Europe frequently, hosting events, challenges and driving esk8 forward. I turned on the TV recently and saw a trampa rider doing a backflip on some shitty news show (I had seen it before). That exposure is priceless for all of us.
Trampa actively develop new products which increasingly improve with every iteration. They are positively pushing the boundaries of implementation and design.
There are falsehoods, misdirection, misinformation and possibly outright bullshit claims going on. Sort of like every business
The product is still there though… and if you buy one it’s going to be supported to the bitter end and work every damn time.
There’s loads of shitty businesses operating here now, Maytech bumped up all their prices by 80% before black Friday and then reduced them by 50% for the sale. Flipsky outright ripped off Jan’s project without a word and continue to deliver subpar products that injure our members, Ollin vanished with our member’s money recently and the list goes on.
Businesses are in it to make profit, that’s something we’re going to need to accept I fear.
So they weren’t disclosed publicly?
I’m genuinely curious how this works and am hoping to understand better as to avoid violation of such design protections (in general, not even related to VESC specifically).
If they were disclosed on special, private servers, how would others operating in this field be able to verify their own designs to not conflict with an existing UCD?
Also, date?
