Oh, I see now. That’s an interesting way of doing it. I don’t know much about airline restrictions so I figured I could just split my battery into two.
(8) 30qs are right at the 99wh limit. You might need to split it up more depending on how large of a pack it is. Also balance wires on the cells will immediately draw TSA attention.
I just thought of this and I wonder how it turned out long term. I’m thinking of doing something similar for a travel board. but not necessarily 4P. My main concerns are how to maintain contact so that there’s good contact for current flow and physically secure do things have to be, being aware both can be affecting by vibrations.
I’ve done it a few times with bullets for the series connections and jsts for balance.
Also did one with xt60s for the series connections
My setup is still going strong! Zero issues with the pack or maintaining contact.
I think the black rtv behind the contact point for compression is the key. It’s flexible and doesn’t get flat.
Those are good to know; I’ll consider them when I upgrade my travel board.
