Hey everyone! I’ve been riding my N1 Nomad for a few months now—almost 800 km on it—and I love it. One thing I kept missing, though, was a brake light. So my electrical‐engineer buddy and I teamed up to design and 3D-print a custom brake light that plugs right into the Nomad’s stock lighting system.
Why it’s awesome:
-
Zero recharging or wiring hassles. It taps into your existing lighting system, so you don’t need to charge another battery or splice any cables.
-
Sleek, eye-catching design. We used Aston Martin–inspired acrylic light rods for a premium look.
-
Out of harm’s way. It sits tucked between the motors, so there’s no risk of kicking or scraping it. You can still stand the Nomad on its rear brace and pick it up normally—there’s plenty of clearance.
-
No permanent mods. Just secure it with two self-locking nylon straps—no drilling required.
-
Ares X1 compatible, too.
Current prototype limitation:
- The stock lighting system doesn’t deliver a ton of wattage, so our brake light isn’t blindingly bright…yet. We’re working on ways to boost visibility.
What do you think? Would you be interested in buying something like this for your Nomad or Ares X1? Any feedback (or feature requests) is welcome!
